Paul Feig‘s hugely anticipated Ghostbusters reboot is in a bit of a casting frenzy. This week has already seen the additions of Andy Garcia and Michael K. Williamsto the list of players, and Chris Hemsworth was confirmed to play a variation on the Annie Potts character in the first two films not long before that. Now, THR is reporting that funnyman Neil Casey has signed on to play Rowan, the major baddy in Feig’s female-centric reimagining, which leads with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Not much else has been confirmed about the character or his intentions in the story, but Casey is a major talent, having worked on a variety of high-profile comedy gigs, including Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer, Veep, The Kroll Show, and the upcoming Fort Tilden. Like many of the stars, Casey got his start as an improv star, and his sharp comedic skills are a stellar addition to an already hugely promising line of performers in what will likely be the most anticipated comedy of 2016.

There’s no official synopsis available as of yet but this piece from the Boston Herald gives a hint at what the plot of the film may be set on:

Wiig and McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.

Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
