Must have DVD Tuesday

Today we are treated to anniversary editions of a couple of our favorite films.

First off is the 25th anniversary special edition of Spaceballs, available for the first time on Blu-Ray.  Hard to believe that it has been 25 years since this film changed our lives.  I still quote this movie every day of my life, and it is a constant source of amusement to all of us at Geek Legacy.  Our Spaceballs edition of Geek Movie Monday is still one of our most popular.

From Amazon;

The fearless – and clueless – Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) and his half-man/half-dog sidekick (John Candy) race against time to free a princess (Daphne Zuniga) from the evil clutches of Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis). Along the way, they meet the wise Yogurt (Mel Brooks), who teaches them the mystical power of “the Schwartz” in order to bring peace – and merchandising rights – to the galaxy!

Next up is the 25th anniversary edition of Adventures in Babysitting.  This film is near and dear to us at Geek Legacy for it’s encapsulation of everything 80’s.  From the fashion to it’s depiction of street gangs, it’s a perfect blend of cheese and fun.

From Amazon;

When Chris Parker (Shue) agrees to babysit, she expects a night of TV and boredom. But when her frantic friend calls and pleads to be rescued from a downtown Chicago bus station, Chris and the kids pack up and leave their safe suburban surroundings for the heart of the big city. It’s a frighteningly funny expedition no one will forget!

Do yourself a favor and pick up these rare gems from the past.  You’ll be glad you did.

    • Darth Shiva

      Spaceballs is so win and I love it every time I watch it but I've actually never seen Adventures in Babysitting. Hard to believe huh?

    • Mr. The Plague

      How fun, I can't wait to buy them both. Go go Amazon.
