Mortal Kombat X Story Trailer Cassie Cage

Today Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios unleashed the Mortal Kombat X Story trailer for our viewing pleasure. In the video we get to see a few new character reveals to the game’s roster including Jacqueline Briggs (Jax’s daughter), Takashi Takeda (Kenshi’s son), and Kung Jin who is a descendant of Kung Lao. Clearly, we have a whole new generation of fighters to protect Earthrealm from the mean bastards in Outworld that always want to move-in on our turf.

Mortal Kombat X will take place up to 25 years after the events from Mortal Kombat (2011). Last year Ed Boon spoke with IGN saying “It’s a direct continuation, but the timespan it crosses is 25 years in length,” regarding Mortal Kombat X‘s storyline. “There are periods that are directly after MK9, then there are periods that are five, ten, 15 and 20 years out. A lot of the events take place 25 years after where we see older versions of the characters, like Cassie Cage and all that. But it does jump around in time; it’s not a linear thing.”

We might have overdosed our listeners on the Pixelated Podcast with Mortal Kombat news as there hasn’t been a shortage of character announcements, fatalities, brutalities, rumors, or videos. We love our gruesome fighting franchise and wouldn’t have it any other way. If you’re as excited as we are don’t forget to pre-order your copy and you’ll receive Goro as a playable character.

Mortal Kombat X will be available for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on April 14, 2015.
