Miitomo App

Miitomo, the first of hopefully many of Nintendo’s apps for smartphones and tablets has over 10 million users around the globe. The free app first launched in Japan on March 17 and hit the West on March 31. In the last month, Miitomo has become the #1 free app across various online stores and according to Nintendo has sparked more than 300 million conversations in Miitomo. Additionally, more than 20 million Miifotos have been created and shared via social media. But wait there’s more! Nintendo will run a special 10-day “Celebrating 10 Million Users!” promotion on April 29 through May 8. We’re not exactly sure what the promotion will entail, but probably something along the lines of sweet new digs, coins, and game tickets.

Nintendo also announced its next two mobile apps would be based on the Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing franchises. The exact release dates for when you can get your hands on these apps remains unknown. However, Nintendo plans to release both of them this fall.

Which franchises would you like to see make their way to your smartphone or tablet? Let us know in the comments below.
