Marvel Unveils Post-“Axis” Uncanny Avengers

Spinning out of the events of 2012’s Avengers vs.X-Men, Uncanny Avengers was Captain America’s attempt to show the world that mutants and humans could co-exist successfully. The “Unity Team” was composed of equal parts man and mutant, and ideally would have proven that everything is better when we all work together.

Of course, none of that happened. Riddled with infighting, thrown up against villains far too powerful for a team that wasn’t used to working with each other, and besieged by their member’s past mistakes, the Unity Team was anything but. And now, with Axis fully under way, it’s becoming even more apparent that this team just isn’t working out.

However, this doesn’t mean it’s going away; it’s just time for a change. Marvel has unveiled the newest iteration of the team that begins with an all-new (but not All-New) Uncanny Avengers #1, beginning right after Axis wraps up. There are a lot of familiar faces, but one that jumps out in particular… are you ready for Sabretooth the Avenger?! I know I’m not!

Check out the cover to Issue #1, as well as a few variants, and let us know what you think!
