Marvel Knights: Spider-Man Brings ALL The Bad Guys

In 2009 Marvel released a storyline in The Amazing Spider-Man called “The Gauntlet.” Written by Mark Waid, Joe Kelly, Fred Van Lente, and Mark Guggenheim the storyline pitted Spider-Mand against 12 of some of his greatest foes, one after the other in a bloody series of conflicts that took an unprecedented toll on Peter Parker’s life.

Apparently author Matt Kindt and artist Marco Rudy thought that it must have been merely a walk in the park for the web swinger. With the release of his new miniseries Marvel Knights: Spider-Man he’ll be multiplying The Gauntlet by eight and unleashing 99 members of Spider-Man’s rogues gallery upon him! (I know 12 x 8 actually equals 96, but it’s close enough)

Assembled by Arcade, a character Marvel seems very interested in making more sinister and dangerous than ever before, Spider-Man will face this unprecedented tide of villany in spectacular locations  chosen specifically to hinder the acrobatic super hero such as an airplane, submarine, , a haunted house, and dense jungles.

It’s unclear wether this is a classic Spidey tale or if it will feature the current Superior Spider-Ock. But rest assured, whichever version of spider-Man it is, he’ll be hurting at the end of this five part series.
