MAD MAX: FURY ROAD First Look Revealed at SDCC

Posted on July 27, 2014 at 12:37 pm by Amanda Andonian

After 30 years, the world of Mad Max is returning to the big screen. Warner Bros and Village Roadshow Pictures unveiled a first look at Mad Max: Fury Road at Comic Con today, and you can check out the trailer and character posters below.

Although it continues the story of the original films, according to director George Miller, this new installment will have an essence all its own. At the Comic Con panel today, Miller talked about stepping back into the familiar world of Mad Max, as well as how the new film will differ from the first three. “It was very familiar,” Miller said. “A lot of time has passed. Technology has changed. It was an interesting thing to do. Crazy, but interesting.” Miller also went on to say that the movie is like “a Western on wheels.” While it does take place in the future, the world of Mad Max is far more medieval.

Here’s the synopsis:

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

The movie stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. It hits theaters on March 15th, 2015.
