Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Nintendo’s commercial for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse on Wii U looks absolutely delightful. Watch as Kirby rolls on rainbow ropes to get through levels and break down barriers whilst collecting shinny gold stars. In the game players will use the Wii U GamePad and stylus to draw rainbows in order to protect Kirby from all the dangers each stage has to offer. There is no set path in this game, all you have to do is use your imagination to get Kirby to safety. Sounds easy, right?

Stephen Janes from our Pixelated Podcast and I had a chance to play Kirby and the Rainbow Curse last year at E3 2014. While we only played the game for about 10 minutes we enjoyed ourselves and looked forward to the finished product.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse also features Amiibo support. If you have the desire and the ability to get your hands on these little bastards, the game supports Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight (Best Buy Exclusive) Ambiios.

Amiibo Bonus Abilities:

  • Kirby – Use Star Dash anytime without collecting 100 stars.
  • King Dedede – Gives Kirby a new hat and six health bars instead of the usual four.
  • Meta Knight – Boosts Dash speed and gives Kirby a new mask.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will be available exclusively for Wii U on February 20.
