Joseph Kosinski Taking Over Twilight Zone Project

Director Joseph Kosinski, of Oblivion fame, is in talks with Warner Bros to direct the new Twilight Zone flick. The film won’t be a remake of the 1980’s anthology tale but rather the first of several films. The first takes place during a air test when a pilot breaks the speed of light and ends up 95 years in the future. The rest of the films will be handled by different directors and follow different story lines. Essentially, a longer and more expensive version of the show.

I waited until Oblivion hit Blu-ray because quite honestly, I am really not a fan of Tom Cruise. Not because of what he does in his personal life but rather his voice. I hate his voice so much. Anyway, Oblivion didn’t really wow me with it’s story (I actually figured it out pretty early on) but it sure was pretty to look at. So I’m somewhat wary of Kosinski taking over the project because The Twilight Zone is probably my favorite show of all time. Although, they could have picked someone much worse so I suppose I’ll keep my reservations low until more details arise.

I am excited at the idea of a series of Zone movies though, I think they could really be something if done right. Maybe they could even spawn a decent new version of the show? Although, I’m pretty sure the 90s put the last nail in that coffin. What do you guys think? Yay or nay on a new Twilight Zone franchise?
