Jared Leto, Will Smith Headline “Suicide Squad” Film

I confess, when Warner Bros. and DC revealed that a Suicide Squad film was in the works, my reaction was predominantly “meh.” My interest in the comic was pretty casual, typically only reading it when it crossed over into other titles I was following, and with the multitude of superhero films on the way, it wasn’t high on my anticipation list.

It just got bumped up the list.

Variety.com has revealed the official cast of the film, and there’s one particular casting that just guaranteed the theater will get my money. Along with confirmation of Jared Leto as Joker (which has been rumored for a few weeks now), they’ve confirmed that Will Smith will take on the roll of Deadshot, the notorious assassin who rarely misses his mark.

Deadshot is without a doubt the only regular member of the Squad that I have serious interest in (sorry Harley Quinn, I’ve been over you for years), and Will Smith is easily one of my favorite actors of all time; putting these together is like geeky chocolate and peanut butter, two great tastes that taste great together!

Check out the casting list below, and let us know what you think of the lineup. The film hits theaters April 5, 2016, which suddenly can’t come fast enough!
