International Trailer for HORNS Shows Off It’s Darker Side

That last Horns trailer was a major game changer courtesy of the surprising sense of humor and playful tone and now this new one does the same, but by taking a different approach.  There are no jokes here, but rather a very thoughtful representation of Ig’s love life followed by a far darker and horror-like summary of what goes down after his girlfriend (Juno Temple) is murdered and he winds up with horns on him. The film will arrive in theaters on October 31st and also stars Max Minghella, Joe Anderson, Kelli Garner and James Remar.

I do miss some of the humor from the last trailer, but this one does manage to build an impressive amount of intensity and show off quite a few startling visuals in the process, suggesting Horns could wind up being a perfect Halloween time option.  However, my fingers are crossed that the final feature winds up delivering a blend of both, taking a more black comedy/horror approach.

Here’s the official synopsis for Horns:

Blamed for the death of his longtime girlfriend (Temple), a small-town guy (Radcliffe) awakens one morning to find a pair of horns growing from his head in this supernatural thriller from horror ace Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, Piranha 3D).
