Well, not literally. What they are doing is bringing us Burn the Orphanage: Born to Lose, a comic that revels in the 80’s goodness of classic beat ’em up games like Double Dragon and River City Ransom.

Burn the Orphanage tells the story of Rock (so 80’s), who with the help of his friends Lex and Bear (so very 80’s) will set out to find those responsible for leaving him for dead in a burning building. And what’s the best way to go about doing that? The only way that someone named Rock, Lex or Bear would know how, by beating the pulp out of every goon in town!

Brought to you by the creative team of Sina Grace (Li’l Depressed Boy, Not My Bag) and Daniel Freedman (Undying Love, Daredevil Noir), Burn the Orphanage sounds like it’ll be pure nostalgia to those who grew up in the early NES and Sega Genesis days.

“I’m lucky enough that I get to work with one of my best friends on a comic book that was birthed from a love of video games, music, and styles of our shared childhood,” said artist and co-writer Grace.

Burn the Orphanage: Born to Lose #1 will be out on August 7th, with variant covers by Rob Guillory and Riley Rossmo (a Hastings exclusive).
