The best thing about convention season is that it is basically all year round. This year thanks to Geek Legacy and Fearnet, I’ll be attending on of this year’s biggest attractions! HorrorHound is a big name for us horror geeks and every time they throw a party it’s a big deal. This month from March 22-24 in Cincinnati Ohio, HorrorHound will be hosting their fantastic convention with all kinds of things to do and people to see.

This year the guests of honor include big name director John Carpenter (Halloween, The Fog, The Thing), several members of The Walking Dead cast including fan favorites Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) and Michael Rooker (Merel Dixon), and a House of 1000 Corpses reunion which is sure to be hilarious. Of course there are many more great guests but you will just have to stay tuned for my coverage of the weekend to see who else I run into.

HorrorHound announced that for the first time EVER they will be hosting the convention 24 hrs starting Friday night at 10 pm and Saturday night starting at 7pm. This means certain vendors will be open all night and there will be the HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival happening. But what is a party without after parties? Friday evening there will be a costume contest and a Zombie Ball for all the undead dancers to get their freak on at.

Also happening Friday and Saturday is the Screaming Ink Tattoo Festival. Essentially, it’s a convention within a convention (convenseption if you will).  This will be the perfect time to show off some horror themed ink! The festival will be hosted by acclaimed tattoo artist Marc Draven and I’m hoping there will be a contest that I can enter in!

Of course you can’t have a party without some music so on Saturday night HorrorHound will be presenting 5 horror themed bands to rock your socks off.  These bands include The Koffin Kats, Stellar Corpses, Harley Poe, Dead Dick Hammer and The Big Bad. All of these bands have the funky psychobilly sound that will surely get you moving. But if you are looking for a more relaxing way to end your Saturday evening you can unwind at the Coco Key Water Park Party.

As you can see there will be tons of awesome things happening and every night of this awesome convention. I will do my best to cover it all and report back to all with awesome reviews, pictures and anything else I come up with. Who says nothing fun happens in Ohio?
