Halo 5: Guardians is slated to be released on October 27th, as announced by the Xbox Team on their official Twitter account. In the meantime, the Twitter hashtag #HuntTheTruth will be used to tease information, footage and more until the release date.

Late yesterday, fans were given two live action trailers to get the hype meter running and to begin speculating as to what the next Halo title will be about. Both feature the same settings and flow, but one has Master Chief as the main focal point, while the other has Jameson Locke taking the lead. The plot synopsis, taken from the Halo 5: Guardians Wiki, is as follows.

“Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. And when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.”

Also advertised is the Master Chief Xbox One bundle for $349. The bundle includes an Xbox One, a headset, a wireless controller, a download code for the Halo Master Chief Collection bundle and access to Halo: Nightfall.

If you weren’t already excited for this release, now you should be. I never was really into the Halo franchise but these games are so fantastic and beautiful looking it’s very difficult not to care. Plus, that Xbox One bundle is a very attractive price and you can get caught up on the saga of Master Chief before his next adventure.
