Glen MazzaraGlen Mazzara is responsible  for boosting The Walking Dead to being the No. 1 scripted show in the 18-49 year old adult demographic. Mazzara took over as showrunner for The Walking Dead after Frank Darabont dropped out and though Mazzara has also left the undead world it looks like he won’t be traveling too far out of his comfort zone.

Mazzara is currently in talks for writing a screenplay aptly called, Overlook Hotel, a prequel to Stephen King’s The Shining. This is the first project Mazzara is taking on after leaving The Walking Dead. He has had quite a bit of small-screen success with work on shows such as Crash and The Shield, he also has signed a TV development deal with FOX to develop shows under his new company, 44 Strong Productions.

Not much has been revealed on this prequel but we do know it will be set at the infamous hotel long before the Torrance family every stepped foot Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of The Shininginside. I’m looking forward to seeing more detail on this project. The stories that happened inside the hotel always seemed so much more interesting a creepy with just the snippets shown in the original film. Stay tuned for more information as it rolls in and let us know what you think about this prequel! Is it good? Will it follow more with the book or with the film version? Leave a comment below!
