Get Upgraded with Superior Iron Man #1

When it comes to Tony Stark, people often sum him up the same way: “He’s a jerk, but essentially a good guy.”

That’s all about to change.

Stemming from the ongoing Axis event, big changes are coming to Tony Stark’s world. No longer interested in playing the role of the good guy, Stark is packing up shop and heading for San Francisco, and he’s bringing with him his biggest idea yet: a superior you!

In the current run of his solo book, Stark has been preoccupied with two things: the idea of building a perfect society, and the resurfacing of the Extremis virus, created in one of the uncountable (and always bad) attempts at making a super-soldier serum. Now, he’s combining the two, and to hell with the consequences. Stark has found a way to use this Extremis 3.0 to turn San Fran into his idea of utopia, and if you want to join in you can use it too. It’ll make you smarter, faster, better… but at  a cost, and one payable to Tony Stark himself.

“This is a Tony we haven’t seen since before that fateful heart injury that turned him into one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes,” says Senior Editor Mark Paniccia. “The smug, over-confident quintessential capitalist is back…and readers are going to get a real kick out of it. Even the most loyal Iron Man fans will find this a guilty pleasure.”

Needless to say, none of the other heroes (particularly San Fran’s own Daredevil, who will feature prominently in the first arc) are as enthusiastic about this “utopia” as Stark is, but unlike before, Stark simply doesn’t give a damn what everyone else thinks, and it sets us on a path where Tony Stark might not be “essentially a good guy” any longer.

Superior Iron-Man is written by Tom Taylor, with outstanding art from Yildiray Cinar. This first issue hits this November; join up, or get the hell out of his way!
