Evolve 3D Printed Figures

Earlier today 2K and Turtle Rock Studios announced Evolve 3D printed figures are available for you to get your hands on. Well, at least the 3D files are available and it’s up to you to get them printed. Those of you that actually own a 3D printer can get started immediately. The rest of us will have to go through a 3rd party such as Sculpteo, Shapeways, or Thingiverse as mentioned on Evolve’s official website.

I took the liberty of using Shapeways for a quick test drive to see how much money a Goliath 3D print would cost. Holy smokes! I’m not going to lie and say “I wasn’t surprised at the numbers.” It’s worth mentioning the figure was available to print in either plastic or stainless steel finishes, which are only two of eight possible material types listed on their website.

GoliathOriginal Bounds:

(in) 10.572w x 13.017d x 13.442h
(cm) 26.854w x 33.062d x 34.142h

Oriented Bounds:

(in) 8.813w x 13.301d x 12.118h
(cm) 22.386w x 33.784d x 30.78h
Volume – 1683.2325cm
Density – 7.23%

Strong Flexible Plastic – White – $2358.03
Stainless Steel – $13,472.86

Interesting idea, but you’ll definitely want to shop around to find the best price. If you decide to blow your wad on such a high priced item, please feel free to send us pictures of your Evolve 3D printed figure. Lastly, check out the video below to get a better idea of how the process works.

Evolve will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 21.
