Gearbox Studios announced they want to make another game in the Borderlands franchise, as announced at PAX South 2015. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said during a panel for the popular franchise that, “The fact is, we’re not working on a new Borderlands game, but we want to.”

Pitchford also took to his Twitter account and basically put a call out to anybody that wanted to help create a new Borderlands. “If you are in the industry and you think you can help us, we want you to help us. We want to get started on a new Borderlands game.” The next game could be Borderlands 3 or another installment in the franchise, but it’s seemingly been announced in a sense.

Also announced at the panel; if the Handsome Collection proves to be “wildly successful,” Gearbox would consider giving the original Borderlands the remaster treatment as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 have received. Pitchford went out to say that he, “…loves Borderlands 1…it’d be awesome to get that on next-gen sometime. If the Handsome Collection is wildly successful, that increases the chances that that investment can be made.”

Even more excitement to add to the hype train, Gearbox also announced the third and fourth DLC packs, specifically for the Pre-Sequel. The Lady Hammerlock Pack will feature Sir Hammerlock’s older sister, Aurelia, as a playable character. The next pack (yet unnamed) will be focused around Claptrap and going into the mind of the fan favorite character.

Lots of big news from the Borderlands front. Which has you most excited? I’m personally excited about the idea of a new game in the franchise coming out. Borderlands is an absolute pleasure to play around with the fantastic characters, plethora of weapons and solid story.
