The Hunger Games YouTube channel released the first teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 today, and it’s pretty weird. Continuing in the theme of propaganda and “peace,” we get a personal address from none other than President Snow, expounding the virtues of a unified Panem. Check it out below:

Nope, that’s not creepy at all! Spoiler Alert! Personally, I thought they’d give Peeta a break for the first part and not “reveal” the fact that he’s been brainwashed until the very end of the movie, but it looks like they’re letting the cat out of the bag right off the bat. Not that those who didn’t read the books wouldn’t have seen that coming.

From the syopsis:

The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik.

Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, opens November 21st.
