Sony Pictures has released the first Fury poster for director David Ayer’s (End of Watch) upcoming World War II action drama.  The original story is set in 1945 as the Nazi regime is in collapse, and revolves around the five-man crew of an American tank called “Fury”.  Brad Pitt plays U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Wardaddy, as he leads his unit in the fight against a desperate German army.  This is undoubtedly one of my most anticipated films of the fall, and this moody debut poster hits all the right notes.  Ayer has been growing more ambitious as a director with his past few features, and I’m eager to see what he does with this eclectic ensemble cast and WWII setting.  A full trailer can’t be far off at this point.

The film also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, and Jason Isaacs.  Fury opens in theaters on November 14th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Fury:

FURY is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
