Glory to Arstotzka!

Papers, Please

Papers, Please is being billed as “a dystopian document thriller,” and I’m inclined to agree. On the surface this game doesn’t appear to have much substance and I’m here to say nothing could be further from the truth. Within moments of starting the game it took hold of me and didn’t let go.

Papers, Please is set in the fictional communist state of Arstotzka, where the player takes on the role of an immigration inspector. It’s up to you to decide who gains entry into your side of the border. Procedures are put into place to protect the Arstotzkan citizens from smugglers and terrorists. Remember to follow protocol or your character will be reprimanded and possibly punished.

Check out our first impressions of the game and let us know what you think. Papers, Please is available on Steam for PC and Mac.
