Final MOCKINGLY – PART 2 Poster Fits the Theme

Lionsgate has released the final poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2, and it…looks a whole lot like what we’ve seen before. Don’t get me wrong, the folks behind the Hunger Games publicity campaign have come up with some really cool imagery over the years, and some of the recent Mockingjay 2 posters have been visually striking — like the image of Katniss standing tall on a fallen President Snow, or Katniss working the hell out of an ivory throne. This is just essentially leaning really hard into the flaming Mockingjay motif and retreading familiar ground. But hey look, Katniss is straight up the Mockingjay now.

Francis Lawrence brings the franchise to a close when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 arrives in theaters on November 20th, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, and Donald Sutherland.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2:

With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.  The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
