Sad news of cancellation and closure from Xbox earlier today when

Fable Legends

Lionhead Studios, who developed the Fable franchise as well as the Black & White series is also slated for closure according to the announcement. Peter Molyneux, the public face and founder of the company for most of it’s life had developed a “over enthusiastic” portrayal of games that were still in development. Often criticized for his promises and descriptions of features and concepts in a game which would later be dropped or cancelled, and thus not making it into the final product. He later left the company in 2012 after the final completed title from the studio, the Kinect title Fable: The Journey.

Additionally as a separate entity, Press Play Studios, the creators of the best known puzzle/platformer game Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is also slated to be shuttered.

Keep it here on Geek Legacy on the potential effects on Xbox of these changes later this year.
