When Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE released Battlefield 4 last October it was quickly discovered that the game was full of bugs, and probably could have used a couple more months of development. Problems at launch including crashing servers and “higher than expected demand” resulted in many gamers simply unable to play for days.

Once they did start playing though, bugs starting coming out by the dozens. New bugs are still coming to light even after developer DICE redirected all of its resources to patching the game. Electronic Arts can’t afford another stain on its reputation Battlefield-Hardlinewith the upcoming Battlefield Hardline.

The developers of the new cop versus robbers-themed Hardline say that gamers should “expect great stability at launch.”

“One of the great things about working on this franchise with DICE, is that we’re able to take some of these improvements and roll them into the Hardline game,” said multiplayer designer Thad Sasser of Visceral Games. “So expect to see great stability at launch, and anything we can do to improve the player experience, we’re going to take that very seriously and try to get that into the game.”

EA has had successful launches since Battlefield 4 with Titanfall but the Battlefield series has a lot to prove to fans. Hardline drops on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 21.
