EA Announces Unravel

Posted on June 15, 2015 at 2:43 pm by Justin Cavender

Today EA announced Unravel, a delightful looking platformer where players take on the role of a tiny little character made from yarn. No this isn’t Yoshi’s Woolly World or Little Big Planet, but I would argue it’s just as adorable. Especially, when you see Yarny’s long trail of yarn unravel behind him as he ventures further into the story.

“The idea of Unravel was created from a very personal place. We didn’t start out by saying we’re going to make a puzzle platforming game. We started by thinking more about our lives, and the things we hold meaningful. We wanted the game to have a heart and the gameplay could always be designed to represent that,” says Martin Sahlin, Creative Director at Coldwood. “The tale ofUnravel is about love, and the bonds between people. And the yarn is a representation of that. Yarny’s red thread is the tie that connects everything in the game, from the gameplay mechanics to the story, and the people in it.”

Still no word on a release date, but Unravel will be available for download on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
