EA Access

Electronic Arts has officially announced EA Access, a subscription service that’s available exclusively for¬†Xbox One. EA Access allows players to download and play games in EA’s Vault for $5 a month or $30 for the entire year. What is The Vault? It’s a collection of games previously released by EA that will continue to grow over time. In the beginning, players will be able to get their hands on Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, and Peggle 2.

EA Access also grants players a 10% discount on EA digital purchases for Xbox One including full retail games and DLC. Additionally, you’ll be able to download upcoming EA games five days before their release date to play for a “limited time.” According to the official website, “if you love it, buy it, and you can pick up right where you left off.”

I’m curious how long it will take for new titles to show up in The Vault. Obviously, the publisher will want to make money selling these games at full price, but if you can wait a 8-12 months to give them a go, this service might be right for you.
