DOCTOR WHO Returns on March 30th

The moment you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! BBC America announced today that Doctor Who  returns on Saturday, March 30th as part of BBC America’s Supernatural Saturday. Over on their blog, BBC America finally gave us a date for the second half of the seventh season, saying:

Part 2 of Doctor Who Season 7 will premiere on Saturday, March 30 in BBC AMERICA’s Supernatural Saturday block, it has been announced, alongside the network’s new original sci-fi series Orphan Black and the comedy-variety chatfest The Nerdist.

As we previously learned, the upcoming eight Doctor Who episodes will include installments from lead writer Steven Moffat (of course), Neil Cross (creator of Luther), Stephen Thompson, Mark Gatiss, and, yes, Neil Gaiman, who previously dazzled Whovians with his Season 6 valentine to the TARDIS, “The Doctor’s Wife.”

I’m especially excited for the rest of the new season because the Doctor Who Christmas special was just so…special! Although I was derelict in my duties by not posting a review of “The Snowmen,” rest assured that I found it completely delightful and full of surprises. It’s an amazing return to form for the series, and I didn’t realize just how much Amy and Rory’s characters were bogging it down until they were gone. As much as I loved Karen Gillan and Arthur Darville, it was definitely time for them to make their exit.

Now, we get to see a new companion, and she’s definitely injecting a bit of fresh air into the series. Check out this fun sneak peek of the coming season!

Are you as excited as I am? What do you think of our new companion? Do you agree with me that she’s going to be a great addition to the show? Let us know in the comments!

Yeah the XMas special was terrible. Here's hoping that its not a trend of things to come.

This is a remake of that Keanu Reeves movie, right?

I agree that Clara is going to be an awesome companion, full of spunk and zest and not worried about the dangers the doctor will bring. Amy was running from something at the beginning and then fell in love with the life, I think Clara sort of has that life anyways, and it will be great to see her character unfold. I don't think that Amy and Rory bogged the series down, I liked their relationship with the doctor and each other, he's never really had a best friend before, but their storyline was done and they had a great run and now it's time for something new.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!! at least in the meantime, walking dead is coming back on Feb. 10 to distract me! 🙂

    • Martha Jones is still my favorite companion. She's smokin' hot and knows how to take care of business.
