As we’ve watched Marvel Studios become the massive brand that it is today, we’ve also seen actors of all stature and status try their best to answer questions about the films while basically saying nothing at all. The go-to line seems to be that Marvel has snipers set on every major actor from their movies, and if they reveal too much, they’ll be taken out. Which is why actor Daniel Bruhl’s recent comments about his role in Captain America: Civil War are so refreshing/hilarious.

Speaking with The Independent (via ScreenCrush), the Rush actor flat-out confirmed that he’s playing Baron Helmut Zemo in the Captain America sequel:

“I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison… For the first few days I’ll walk around captain-america-baron-helmut-zemo-395x600like a little boy, just amazed by the megalomania of it. It’s such a huge project. We could do 20 films with the budget.”

So there you have it: a straightforward answer that we all pretty much knew already, which doesn’t alter our eventual enjoyment of the film whatsoever. I understand Marvel’s desire to control how each piece of information is revealed, but there’s something funny about Bruhl just straight up saying, “Yeah I’m Baron Zemo. That’s not revealing too much.”

For those unfamiliar with the villainous character. Essentially, he’s the son of a scientific genius and special agent in Hitler’s Nazi regime who blames Captain America for his father’s death. Marvel Studios hasn’t really done a straightforward adaptation of a comics arc before and I don’t expect them to start with Zemo, so expect plenty of twists and turns once we see Bruhl’s iteration onscreen.

Production on Civil War gets underway this week in Atlanta under the direction of Joe and Anthony Russo, with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Frank Grillo, and Anthony Mackie also starring. The film opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
