Cover Revealed for GODZILLA: AWAKENING; Comic Set Decades Before the New Film

We’re about a month and a half away from Gareth Edwards Godzilla film, and to whet your appetite even further Legendary Comics has revealed an impressive cover for their prequel comic Godzilla: Awakening. Drawn by acclaimed artist Arthur Adams, the 80-page comic is set decades before the film and is written by Max and Greg Borenstein. Max also wrote the film, which is being produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

Synopsis for Godzilla: Awakening:

Delve into an incredible mystery, generations in the making. At the dawn of the atomic age, humanity awakens life forms beyond imagination, unleashing monumental forces of nature. This explosive, larger-than-life adventure is the perfect way for fans to glimpse the new Godzilla before seeing the film in theaters.

Godzilla: Awakening is on sale May 7, 2014.  The film stars Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanbe, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, and David Strathairn.  Godzilla opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on May 16th.
