Counter Strike: Global Offensive Free Trial on Steam

Posted on November 1, 2012 at 2:48 pm by Justin Cavender

Steam is offering a free trial download for Counter Strike: Global Offensive until 1PM PST Sunday November 4. Counter Strike has been around well over a decade and fans have no problem keeping it alive. CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and gives us spruced up versions of classic CS content. The game also features matchmaking, leader boards, and new game modes.

Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999,” said Doug Lombardi at Valve. “For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS‘ award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac.”

Game Modes

  • Classic: Competitive – 5v5 best-of-30 match on a classic CS map.
  • Classic: Casual – Players automatically receive body armor and defusal kits and gain bonus rewards for kills.
  • Demolition – Take turns attacking and defending a single bombsite
  • Arms Race – Gain new weapons after scoring a kill and work your way through each weapon in the game. A golden knife kill will win the match.

After a fun filled weekend of chucking Molotov cocktails and incendiary grenades, you can purchase Counter Strike: Global Offensive for $9.99 which is 33% OFF. That’s a pretty sweet deal, but don’t be surprised if it’s even cheaper during Steam’s Holiday Sale next month. That’s when prices get insanely low. Either way, you can never go wrong with Counter Strike.

Man I've died so many times in this game. I'm pretty sure I'm the worst CS player on the planet.

I'm probably the one that killed you, sucker!

Sometimes it's like shooting fish in a barrel. I love it when you can smell a noob a mile away.
