Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR Plot Detail Possibly Leaked; May Involve Climate Change and Corn

As to be expected from a Christopher Nolan film, details for his upcoming Interstellar are being kept a closely guarded secret. The logline says that the story is about “a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.” Now, if new details can be believed, we have learned that the purpose for the exploration may involve corn… yeah that corn. ***Possible Spoilers Ahead***

The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain,Matt Damon, Bill Irwin, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck, David Gyasi, Wes Bentley, Mackenzie Foy, Timothée Chalamet, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine. Interstellar opens November 7, 2014.

The  Fort Macleod Gazette [via JoBlo] posted the following:

Set in the future, the movie details the toll climate change has taken on agriculture, with corn the last crop to be cultivated. The scientists embark on a journey through a worm hole into other dimensions in search of somewhere other crops can be grown.

Climate change? I expected more from Christopher Nolan. Climate change seems like an over used premise that is a few years past it’s prime for Nolan.  The Gazette has also posted some unofficial set photos, but you’ll have to check out their site to view those. What do you think about Nolan making an issue out of global warning, and do you think he will hit you over the head with it?
