Marvel had a pretty eventful Comic Con this last weekend.  They showed off Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and unveiled The Guardians of the Galaxy cast and a teaser and title for Avengers: Age of Ultron (not related to the comic).  The Captain America press conference featured; The Russo Bros. (directors), Emily Van Camp (Agent 13), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Scarlett Johanson (Black Widow), Chris Evans (Captain America), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Agent Hill),  Frank Grillo (Crossbones), and Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier).   Watch the video below.  And be sure to check out our recap and video of the Guardians of the Galaxy press conference.

Some of the highlights;

  • We were assured that there wouldn’t be a ton of “Captain trapped in the past jokes” like “what’s the internet?”  Cap is aware of technology and even owns a cell phone.
  • Anthony Mackie is heavily in favor of The Falcon joining the Avengers, and said he would have to take out Iron Man to be the only flying Avenger.  He said Thor doesn’t fly, the hammer does.
  • Chris Evans discusses what it is like to be the only “wholesome” comic book character left, and what kind of burden that puts on him.  Right and wrong is easier to deal with in the 40’s.
  • Cobie Smulders looks great… doesn’t say a word, but looks great.
  • Samuel L. Jackson saves us a couple times from terrible answers.

Here’s the synopsis for Captain America: The Winter Soldier:

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.
