Blizzard Partners with Facebook

Today Blizzard Entertainment announced a new partnership with Facebook that will allow players a new way to share game content. Beginning later this month players will be able┬áto sign up and play Blizzard games including World of Warcraft, Starcraft II, Diablo III, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, and Overwatch using their Facebook accounts. Additionally, this will lay the foundation for using Facebook’s live application program interface (API) to create its own streaming functionality straight to the players timeline sometime in the near future.

“Blizzard games are best when played with friends, so it’s important to us to provide our players with features and services that make it easy and fun to share their experiences with each other,” said Gio Hunt, executive vice president of corporate operations at Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re working closely with Facebook on this integration for Overwatch, as well as our other games, and we look forward to sharing further details on our plans as development progresses.”

So going forward, not only will you have to look at countless photos of kids, animals, and Trump memes, you can also watch your friends and family play video games. My goodness. So the next time Junkrat kills you and your entire team by pressing Q, trust that everyone you know will see how horrible you are at shooting explosive tires.
