Bioware Teases New Game Anthem

At EA’s EA Play event kickstarting E3 2017 today, a little teaser was shown for Bioware’s next Action Adventure franchise: Anthem. The studios recent successful franchises include Dragon Age, The Old Republic, and Mass Effect with the latter having had a lukewarm recent installment in Andromeda.

From what was seen in the teaser, Anthem seems to be in the science fiction vein mixed with a Destiny-esque set up about a walled off settlement/city that is secured against creatures and weather elements and humans who venture out in mechanized exo-suits.

Touting a “live service”, this appears to hint at a multiplayer online aspect to the game that will intertwine with signature Bioware design, but has been differentiated from other past franchises in that this is not an RPG.

The game was originally slated for Spring 2018 but has since been revised for a Fall 2018 release, expect more details on this mysterious new IP tomorrow during Microsoft’s press conference.
