Bill & Ted 3 gets a director

Posted on August 10, 2012 at 9:51 am by David "Snackbar" Edmundson

Most excellent news, Bill & Ted 3 is one step closer to becoming a most triumphant reality. Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) has signed on to helm the picture after he is done filming Red 2 with Bruce Willis.

This news follows a report a couple months ago that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter were interested in reprising their roles as Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan. No word yet on the story, but there is said to be a script that all involved are happy with. Rumors have circulated that it may focus around the band’s inability to create the song that would unite all humanity.

For those unfamiliar with the saga; Bill & Ted’s band Wyld Stallions is the catalyst for world peace in the future. Their music will unite the world and usher in an era of prosperity. A threat arises when the group is almost split up, and only the timely intervention of Rufus (George Carlin), a time traveling savior from the future can save the day. Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure was released in 1989 and was an immediate success. It was followed a year later with an animated series, and in 1991 with Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

Were you a fan of the original? Will you see this one?

Dust… Wind… Dude. Hopefully Death has a cameo, Bogus Jouney left me with the impression that he, Station, and the Good Robot Us'es were part of the band.

Hopefully it is a romp through time and not a journey thought the afterlife. EXCELLENT!!!
