Spell check be damned! Terminator 5 has been renamed Terminator Genisys. Not Genesis anymore, but Genisys. Why?  Hopefully there will be a logical answer to that question when we finally get some plot information, but for now, it just is what it is, so you can laugh at it right along with titles like Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps2 Fast 2 Furious, Trans4formers and ID Forever, just to name a few.

Terminator Genisys is due to arrive in theaters on July 1, 2015 and also stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee.

So this is it and you’ll probably notice that in addition to the title on his chair, it also says the word Genisys on the screen in front of him, so, thankfully, the new subtitle should have a purpose.  Some sort of Genisys corporation or computer program seem like the most logical options.

In addition to Schwarzenegger’s Instagram photo, we’ve also got a Twitter account up and running boasting that brand new title, too. The account isn’t verified, but Schwarzenegger did include the handle in his own tweet, so it’s likely that it’s the real deal.  Plus, Paramount has confirmed that Terminator Genisys is the official title. We’ve got a clearer image of that title via the @Terminator Twitter account below and here’s a link to the brand new terminatorgenisys Instagram account as well.
