Amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits

Amiibo Tap: Nintendo’s Greatest Bits was announced today during the Nintendo Direct. The Wii U app is free to download on the Nintendo eShop and allows gamers to tap any Amiibo to their GamePad to unlock a playable scene from NES and Super NES games.

Each playable demo is limited to three minutes, but it’s still neat to play some classic games even if only for a short time. However, you can tap the Amiibo again to play a variety of scenes. Additionally, all scenes are randomly assigned so just keep tapping away!

In other Amiibo news, three new waves of Super Smash Bros. Series Amiibo were also announced. The first of the three new waves will be available on May 29 and includes Charizard, PAC-MAN, Wairio, Jigglypuff, Greninja, Robin, Lucina, and Ness. Taking things in a different direction for Amiibo are the Amiibo Cards. The first batch of collectible cards will be based on Animal Crossing characters and are scheduled to release this Fall.
