Amazon Studio Releases Chris Carter’s The After (and a Bunch of Other Pilots)

Amazon Studios LogoIf you were able to check out the trailer for X-Files creator Chris Carter’s The After and couldn’t wait to see it–look no further. Amazon has just released it’s second batch of pilots for “audience testing” here (ten pilots in total), and those with Amazon Prime get first crack at them. The After follows eight strangers who are thrown together by mysterious forces and must help each other survive in a violent world that defies explanation. Think The Event or LOST (but I hope it’s more like the latter). The project is written and directed by Emmy-nominee Chris Carter, executive produced by Marc Rosen of Georgeville Television and produced by Gabe Rotter. There are a ton of familiar faces in this pilot, including Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) and Aldis Hodge (Leverage).

This marks the first Georgeville-produced series to hit screens after they began developing Crossbones with NBC, as well as a Blake’s 7 remake with Syfy in 2012. Crossbones will hit screens this summer, though Georgeville is no longer involved with production. Blake’s 7 was last rumored to be going to Xbox Studios, but that was a while ago.

What do you think of The After pilot? Could this be Amazon’s landmark drama series? Are you excited for Chris Carter’s return to television? Discuss in the comments below (I promise to join you once I watch it this weekend).
