Alien: Isolation

Sega is taking another crack at the Alien franchise bringing us Alien: Isolation, a survival horror game taking place 15 years after the events of the first film. We all remember last year’s disaster Aliens: Colonial Marines, which not only defiled canon for the series, but was also a horrible game to say the least.

This time around Sega has teamed up with Creative Assembly (Total War: Rome II) to bring Alien back to its roots. Fans will remember feeling claustrophobic as Ellen Ripley and her crew were hunted down by the terrifying Xenomorph aboard the commercial vessel Nostromo. Alien: Isolation looks to rekindle our fear of being hunted and ripped apart by the frightful alien once again.

Players take on the role of Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, as she hopes to uncover the truth behind her mother’s disappearance. According to the game’s description “you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.”

Alien: Isolation will feature a dynamic and reactive alien which uses its senses to hunt you down and track your movement. The game also forces players to use their surroundings by hacking systems, salvaging parts, and crafting items to aid in their survival.

Alien: Isolation is due out later this year on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
