A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD – 1st official image

With the first trailer for A Good Day to Die Hard scheduled to drop later this week, the studio has released the first official image from the film. A Good Day to Die Hard is the fifth film in the Die Hard series, and this film finds John McClane (Bruce Willis) teaming up with his estranged son (Jai Courtney) to take on some Russian foes. While little is known about the plot for the film, director John Moore (Max Payne) revealed that it will feature a car chase that took 78 days to shoot, and that fans shouldn’t expect “corny jokes” this time around. The trailer will be shown before Taken 2 this weekend, and online within the next couple of days. The film also stars Sebastian Koch, Yulia Snigir, Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Megalyn Echikunwoke, and Anne Vyalitsyna. A Good Day to Die Hard opens February 14, 2013.

Courtney recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about the relationship between Jack and John McClane;

“That’s the thing about the Die Hard franchise, John’s always a fish out of water. What could be further out of water for him than Russia?… The relationship isn’t always functional. These are two guys who have been estranged for some time. John likes to wing it, see what happens. Jack’s more of a strategist.”

I for one love all four Die Hard films so far, so I am looking forward to this film. John Moore’s statement about “corny jokes” worries me a little since that has always been one of the cornerstones of the franchise, but I am sure we can expect the same “McClane” flair that made the other four films such a success. What do you think? What’s your favorite Die Hard film?

      Die Hard always makes it on my number one slot for Christmas movies. Sound be fun!

      Awesome!

    • Some people feel meh about Die Hard 2, but I love it. I love them ALL! In fact, I would go so far as to say I enjoy each Die Hard film equally. They're all tied for first.

        Not me, it goes Die Hard, With A Vengeance, Live Free, and Due Harder. Love them all, just not equally.
