Fox has released eight new posters for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The follow-up finds Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) having his consciousness sent back to 1973 in order to help Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the rest of the X-Men: First Class crew stop Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) and the rise of the Sentinels, giant robots programmed to exterminate mutants. While not quite as bad as the most recent poster, these are still lackluster. I like the concept behind them, but I am not a huge fan of the orange/blue color scheme, and the titling is strange (I know Jackman’s name gets top billing, but it’s still weird to see it under Ian McKellen’s face). I love the idea of matching the younger and older Magneto on a poster, but what is with young Xavier reaching out to touch Storm’s face.
The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Evan Peters, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Halle Berry, Lucas Till, Omar Sy, Adan Canto, Daniel Cudmore, and Bingbing Fan. X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in 2D and 3D on May 23rd.
