2 New TV Spots for Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

ABC just released two new TV spots for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  The show is easily the most anticipated new show, and it’s world premiere at last month’s San Diego Comic Con blew the lid off the place.  The first promo features Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) giving us a rundown on his team.  The second promo focuses on the character Skye and answers the question, “Will there be superheroes in the show?”  I think a lot of people are going to go into this show expecting “film level entertainment”, and be sorely disappointed.  If the writing in the first promo is any indication of what we can expect, we are in for some trouble.  The second one seems to highlight the “freak of the week” aspect of the show as well as giving us a glimpse of a show that looks to be one part Heroes and one part Alphas.  Hopefully I’m wrong and it amazing.  I will definitely be tuning in though, and I’ll give my full report then.

The series also stars Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on Tuesday, September 24th at 8pm (EST).

Here’s the official synopsis for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.:

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television and will premiere on Tuesday, September 24th at 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time on ABC Network.
