2 New Posters for JUPITER ASCENDING; New Trailer Debuts Tonight

Warner Bros. has released a pair of posters for writers/directors Lana and Andy Wachowski’s sci-fi adventure Jupiter Ascending, and they’re unique and different like everything the Wachowski’s do.  The story follows Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a recent Russian immigrant who scrubs toilets for a living, but then discovers she has the genetic signature that makes her next in line to be Queen of the Universe.  Channing Tatum plays an ex-military half-werewolf half-albino hunter tasked with tracking her down.  A new trailer will be online later today, I’m digging the Flash Gordon / otherworldly weird vibe that we’ve been shown thus far.  It’s also refreshing to have a completely original non-sequel, non-reboot, big-budget film coming our way this summer. Check back at 7:30pm ET to watch the new trailer.

The film also stars Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, James D’Arcy, Tim Pigott-Smith, and Doona Bae.  Jupiter Ascending opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on July 18th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Jupiter Ascending:

From the streets of Chicago to the far-flung galaxies whirling through space, “Jupiter Ascending” tells the story of Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), who was born under a night sky, with signs predicting she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
